I am a native of Daingean in Offaly and I would like to point out that its Irish name is An Daingean so you better stick with Daingean Uí Chúis/Dingle

If it works why change it. Dingle is Dingle. no need to change something as simple as a good wholesome name like DIngle.

The Best of Luck with the Plebiscite Dingle. The Irish Abroad are with you all the way. The people get to decide the name of their own town

As a native of Dingle now living in London we need to continue this fight to preserve the name of Dingle for our past, present & future generations.

why does OCuiv feel he has the right to change the name of a town? surely the only person or people that can do so the people who actually live there

Was in Dingle 3 years ago, good craig (do you still have that "dalek" looking watchtower on the hill?) change the name? People will not recognise it.

Such a waste of money to change a recognised brand name for a name of a place that was a refomatory school in Offaly until the state had to close it.

I visited Ireland in 1997 and still have a longing to return to that quaint town that I'll always fondly remember as Dingle.
